Supporting someone into CDAS
If you’re a professional in Stoke-on-Trent supporting someone affected by drugs or alcohol, you can help connect them to CDAS. The process is slightly different depending on whether they’re an adult (18+) or a young person (under 18).

Supporting Adults (18+) into CDAS
For adults, there’s no formal referral process. The simplest way for someone to start getting help is to attend our Hanley drop-in service.
- No forms to complete
- No waiting for a response
- Just turn up during drop-in hours
You may find it helpful to share our drop-in information sheet with the person you’re supporting. Simply print it out.

Young People (under 18)
Our dedicated young people's team works with ages 5-18 who want support with their own drug or alcohol use or are affected by someone else's use (for example, a parent, carer, or family member).
For young people, we ask for a referral from a professional. Once we receive the referral we will contact the young person (or their parent/carer if under 16), arrange a chat in a safe space that works for them, and explain how we can support them and what they can expect.
